In Naples, the Armonia musical ensembles draw on the constant participation and availability of professional members of the orchestras of the city's most celebrated musical institutions, such as the Teatro San Carlo, and collaboration by talented young musicians from the Parthenopean musical scene.
The flexible composition of these ensembles allows Armonia to satisfy the most varied artistic demands, creating a constant flow of new musical programmes. Reworking old scores, weaving in fragments from previously unpublished pieces and programming that spans a repertoire from religious to chamber music and from the operatic to the symphonic make Armonia a name that is acclaimed by public and critics alike.
The Armonia musical ensembles have worked closely with Municipalities in Campania, Lazio and Calabria since 2001, performing numerous concerts for them. Currently Armonia is engaged in furthering such relationships with other towns throughout Italy.
As part of the Christmas festivities of 2004, the Armonia musical ensembles made a live CD recording of the most famous J. Strauss waltzes and Christmas carols.
The Carols were adapted by Maestro G. Mellone and performed by the soprano Bernadette Siano. Armonia and its ensembles are preparing new recordings that will revive pieces from the Parthenopean musical repertoire from its beginnings to the mid-twentieth century.
For 2007 an Australian tour is planned, organised with the Associazione Musica Italia of Rome, sponsored by airline companies, under the artistic direction of composer and conductor Maestro Vincenzo Palermo.
